The main purpose for the dinner was to fulfil the alumni objective of building lifelong relationships between students, alumni and the college. The gathering was an ideal opportunity for alumni to keep abreast on the developments in the college, rekindle fond memories with old friends, interact with the present students, and maintain lifetime ties with the college. This event intended to foster strong relationships between students and lecturers while also offering continuous educational opportunities for the seniors. Alumni were also invited to the dinner so as to maintain the essential link with SEGi Collage Penang, through interaction between industry players, career opportunities and activities. The event, which was part of a coursework project for the Hospitality and Tourism students who are in the April 2010 intake’s Event Management class, started with a welcoming speech by Mr Puvintharan, the Head of Hospitality and Tourism Management School, and followed by a speech from Ms Shalini, the president of HOST club. Guests attending the grand dinner were treated to superb performances from none other than the students of the Hospitality and Tourism Management School. The performances and activities included a cultural dance, lucky draws, a hip hop dance, and a fashion show, among others. There was also a time of bonding between lecturers and students whereby everyone was required to dance on the stage and participate in activities together. The lecturers were very sporting, dancing in front of the students while the students requested any type of dance they wanted them to perform. It was indeed a fun night and as the saying goes - A NIGHT TO BE REMEMBERED! |
