Awarded by University of Southern Queensland, Australia
This Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (GCTT) scholarship Programme, offered in collaboration with the University of Southern Queensland, has been developed as part of SEGi’s continuous effort to promote and encourage staff development through higher education and training. This programme aims to equip SEGi’s academics in the tertiary sector who already have a degree or diploma, to acquire a recognised education qualification. The criterion-oriented programme design focuses on the knowledge, skills, performance competencies and attitudes necessary for tertiary educators to develop their planning, instruction, assessment, evaluation and program design capabilities to a high standard. On successful completion of the GCTT programme, candidate may articulate into the Masters Degrees offered at the Faculty of Education, USQ.
Students who complete the Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching program will be well qualified for employment as teachers in schools within Malaysia, Australia and in many overseas jurisdictions, as well as in a range of alternative education settings and in the diverse and expanding post-compulsory sector.
Other career opportunities exist in the many emerging fields where the teaching-related skills of communication and educational management are critical, in conjunction with the appropriate specific discipline knowledge. Examples of such careers include sport and leisure centre management, personal training, life coaching and human services.
